There was a moment in Adam Reverie’s career in which he said that he was going to quit music altogether. He even penned an entire track, “The Unbosoming,” to detail his issues with the industry and his reasons for hanging up his Hip-Hop cleats for good. Thank goodness he didn’t.
In Detroit last week, Adam Reverie made his way to the Sway In The Morning stage to perform on Shade 45 in front of some of Motown’s heaviest hitters, including Slaughterhouse’s Royce da 5’9″. Before a mic ever touched his hands, Reverie pummeled Sway in the chest with his enthusiasm as noted by Mr. Calloway himself, and he carried that energy like contained lightning into his freestyle performance. As soon as he hit the beat, Reverie showed Detroit love with references to Megatron, Elzhi, Royce, and Eminem, dousing each bar with flame-thrown passion that not only got Sway’s attention, and a big smile, but set the bar high for the rest of Detroit’s MC’s to follow.
Take a look and watch out for Adam Reverie’s forthcoming project, Soul Ties, later this August.
